Professional History:

I graduated from Kenyon College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Later I acquired a Master’s degree in Education from Towson State University and taught reading to adults in the Anne Arundel Community College outside Annapolis MD. When I moved to Nashville TN, I decided to switch careers and pursued a Masters in Social Work from UT College of Social Work. I spent my second year internship at the Oasis Center and after graduation was hired and happily stayed for over 12 years.

In the fall of 2008 Oasis Center was awarded the Quality Counts Initiative from the Forum for Youth Investment. I became the facilitator of that initiative and Director of Training. As a result I became a certified trainer in more youth work curriculums including become a trainer of trainers in Advancing Youth Development, and had the opportunity to train many staff in Nashville youth-serving agencies.

In January of 2010, I left Oasis Center to work with the Nashville After Zone Alliance through the Mayor’s Office. As a trainer and quality improvement coordinator I work with after school program staff. Through use of the Youth Program Quality Assessment tool and training, we provide coaching and evaluation to the staff. This is professional development at its best.

In August of 2010, I became a Field Consultant with the Weikart Center for Youth Program Quality. Now I train staff in other parts of the country in how to use the YPQA tool to increase the quality of their youth work.

My current residence is Nashville TN and I am the mother of 4 grown children.
